WeGo Team Link lets stronger people share energy with their teammates and companions. Nobody gets left behind and nobody has to put the brakes on. WeGo Team Link is for any pair or group of people covering ground together:

  • Team adventure sports
  • Outdoors with children
  • Backpacking
  • Hiking
  • Running

The secret of WeGo Team Link: its shock absorbing properties. The follower's footsteps become lighter and easier, without a feeling of being pulled. The leader gets to work harder and help everyone go faster without feeling they're pulling.

WeGo Team Link Components

1. High-Performance Towline

The heart of the system is the towline, which consists of a fabric-covered multi-element elastic line about 30 inches long with an easy-to-handle carabiner clip at each end. The multiple elements, both static and elastic, result in a remarkable balance among length, strength, weight, and stretchiness over a wide range of towing forces.

Casual users who have never towed before are consistently surprised at how good it feels both to tow and to be towed using the WeGo Team Link high-performance towline.

We offer two versions of the towline:

  • Standard – Weighs about 3.5 ounces; optimized for moderate to heavy towing forces (9-30 lb.). Available only at our Ordering WeGo page.

  • Race – Weighs about 1.7 ounces; optimized for light to moderate towing forces (2-15 lb.). Available at our Ordering WeGo page or, starting April 17, at Mountains Plus Outdoor Gear

2. Harness

It is possible to clip our high-performance towline into a belt loop, regular pants belt, sternum strap, waist strap, or any of the various loops found on typical backpacks. However, it is most ergonomically efficient to clip the towline at pelvis level, lower than most backpack loops, and lower than the beltline on many women's pants. This is especially true for the follower. Being towed from the waist results in rapid lower back fatigue. Being towed from the pelvis does not fatigue the body in any way (beyond the usual fatigue from walking or running).

We created a belt harness made of 2-inch black strapping to be worn over any sort of clothing just below the level of the hip bones. It is adjustable in length, closes using a typical backpack belt clasp, and has sturdy D-rings front and back for clipping in your towline. Sticky neoprene patches on the inside help prevent slippage.

Finally, two large safety pins are included for optionally attaching the belt to your pants or shorts at each side. This is a very low-tech but very effective way to keep the belt from sliding up to your waist. After much experimentation with different harness designs, we found that the safety pin solution is not only the simplest and lightest-weight solution, but, surprisingly, the most secure solution.
